The win helped exorcise the ghosts of last season’s 37-point drubbing at the hands of the Sixers and kept the Taipans among the league’s top four. Cairns once again had a good spread of scorers, with five players making double-figure contributions, including Ayinde Ubaka, who finished with a game-high 21 points and Phill Jones, who ended a scoring drought with 15.
