Iguodala, Marshall Lead 76ers over Heat
Donyell Marshall was surprised when Sixers head coach called upon his name to enter in the game. DiLeo had to say it again before Marshall could move up to the bench and sure he delivered by scoring 10 points in the fourth quarter to help the Philadelphia 76ers pull off a victory over the Miami Heat 85-77 Sunday night.
Andre Iguodala scored 21 points, Thaddeus Young had 17 and Samuel Dalembert grabbed 12 rebounds for the Sixers who now won third straight and moved up to 2 games behind the Heat for the fifth place in the East.
At the start of the fourth quarter, the Heat had a slim lead over the Sixers who made a run behind Marshall’s three-pointer to tie the count 70-all. Andre Miller followed it with a jumper capping an 11-2 run that put them ahead 72-70.
When Wade came back, it seems already too late for the Miami who couldn’t stop the surging Marshall. After Wade hit his free throws, Louis Williams scored a lay-up and Marshall hit consecutive three-pointers to put them ahead by six.
The Heat couldn’t recover as Dwayne Wade was limited only to 18 points. He look tired after playing a career-high 52.5 minutes against the Jazz.
O’Neal led the Heat with 20 points who now fell to 2-1/2 games behind Atlanta for fourth in the East.
