Raptors sign Triano as Head Coach
Last Monday, the Toronto Raptors signed Jay Triano to a three-year contract taking off the ‘interim’ tag to him. Triano took over Sam Mitchell last December 3 after the latter’s dismal performance.
With Triano, the Raptors went 25-40 but finished the season strong going 9-4 in their last 13 games. Also, Triano is the first Canadian-born coach in the NBA when he was an assistant to Lenny Wilkens back in 2002.
Like Alvin Gentry, Triano must also be very, very happy right now. Congratulations.
