Wade Scores 50 to Lead Heat in 3OT
Dwayne Wade continues to dominate the league in scoring. Last Saturday, he scored 50 points to lead the Miami Heat in a triple-overtime epic to beat the Utah Jazz 140-129.
Helping out Wade was Jermaine O’Neal who had 28 points to help the Heat create two huge last-ditch rallies before they subdued the Utah Jazz.
At the end of regulation, the Jazz were ahead 107-100 with just 55 seconds left. But the Heat made a 7-0 run to send the game into first overtime at 107-all. The first overtime started with Korver and Okur knocking down three-pointers to put them ahead 115-107 with just less than 2 minutes to play.
Again, Miami, through the heroics of Wade found O’Neal inside for a lay-in, then scored the next four points himself, before Haslem tied the count with 22.1 seconds to play to send the game into second overtime.
The second overtime, was a closely fought ballgame with five ties but Williams converted a jumper with just 3.4 seconds left before the Heat outscored Utah 15-4 in the third overtime to pull off the victory.
Mario Chalmers had 23 points for the Heat who shot 35 for 39 from the free throw line. Deron Williams led the Jazz with 30 points and 12 assists who also got a season-high 25 points from Kyle Korver.
